Pressbots are one of the five Cog Departments present in Tooniversal Studios, and are exclusive to Tooniversal as well. Pressbots do not currently have a confirmed Headquarters, nor a department head.

Insignia and Suit[]

Pressbot Emblem

The current Pressbot insignia (left) is a microphone, representing their ability to announce the news to all the other Cogs around Toontown. As well, these cogs can be identified by their suits, which are pine brown with a diamond print and include a red tie on their chest. The old and unused Pressbot insignia (right) is a radio tower, representing their role in controlling media.

Trivia[]

  • Anchor Men are taller than the other tier 8 Cogs, making them the tallest non-boss Cog in the game.
    • This also applies to their Skelecog form.
  • Currently, the Pressbots use the same attacks as the Lawbots. Each Pressbot shares attacks with the Lawbot of the same level.
    • Because of this, the Gazetteer can use the Quake attack, which it shares with Spin Doctors. There is currently no working Quake animation for Suit A Cogs, which is the suit type that Gazetteer uses, so they simply stand in place when using this attack. However, the attacks still function as normal.
      • Gazetteers can also use the Spin Cog attack, which it also shares wth Spin Doctors. Because of this, it is no longer the signature move of Spin Doctors in Toontown Online.
    • News Hounds can use Legalese, which they share with Legal Eagles. Because of this, Legalese is no longer the signature move of Legal Eagles in Toontown Online.
  • Paper Boys is the only tier 1 Cog that doesn't use the Suit C Cog Suit. They instead use the Suit B Cog Suit.
  • Shutter Bugs are smaller than Micromanagers.
  • There is currently an area known as Pressboot HQ in the game that is accessible during April Toons, but is visible on the map by hovering over the cloud to the right of Lost Central. This is simply meant to be an event area and not the confirmed Pressbot Headquarters, even though the map icon says "Pressbot HQ."
    • A theory says the real Pressbot HQ will be near Toontown Central because of the current location of Pressboot HQ, the fact that Toons are sent to Toontown Central after leaving Pressboot HQ, and because Flippy and Tutorial Tom in the Toontorial can be overheard discussing something about Toontown Central being in danger that seems to be realted to the Cogs.
  • An Anchor Man and Gumshoe appear in the Toontorial after defeating the Flunky, making them the seond and third Cogs a new Toon encounters in the game.
  • Since there is currently no Headquarters for the Pressbots, the only way to find level 13+ Anchor Men is to do a high-level Pressbot Cog Building, or a high-level Field Office in an Anchor Man invasion.
  • Paper Boys seem to have a similar face texture as Cold Callers and Short Changes.
  • Excluding their hat, Ghost Writers seem to have the same head shape as Mr. Hollywoods, Robber Barons, and Yesmen.
